The xAI supercomputer in Memphis is thirsty. It needs a lot of water to cool its’ components. Estimates vary for daily use, but many residents in Memphis fear the facility using the city’s pristine drinking water aquifer. As such, xAI agreed to cool its’ components with grey water, that is, treated tertiary wastewater from the municipal treatment plant. This water would have otherwise been released into the Mississippi River. This sounds like a win-win for xAI and the city, right? Not so fast. This video exposes the unhidden secrets that nobody else is talking about. This video has great application to every American city because it raises awareness for us to look more closely at the long term effects of new industrial plants coming close to our homes.
